Our fridge water line started leaking and we didn’t know it was leaking until it went through the floor and water started pouring out of the garage ceiling. We called my daughter who then called Michael. He was at our house in less than an hour and walked us through everything and different options because It damaged our floor and cabinets. If we have any more problems he is who we will call again. Thank you for your help.

This was pretty much the best experience I ever had with anything related to construction. My tenants had a small leak on one of the pipes that was between four separate rooms of the house. I had a plumber along with water mitigation specialists who came by. Not a single person was able to detect the source of the leak. Not even the insurance adjuster. Michael Phillips was able to find it. Not only that, but he told me exactly what was happening and what I needed to do. He did a thorough and fantastic job. What could have been a major issue turned out to be one that was far more easy to handle. I can't thank Mr. Phillips enough for his help. If I could offer 6 stars for the work he did, I would.

How Water Damage Can Start

A water loss does not always begin with major flooding. A failed supply line, slow plumbing leak, overflowing fixture, or roof problem can allow moisture to spread into surrounding materials before the full extent of the damage is obvious. Situations we handle include:

  • Pipe & Supply Line Failures – Broken plumbing or failed connections can release water inside walls, ceilings, kitchens, bathrooms, and utility areas.
  • Dishwasher & Washing Machine Leaks – Appliance failures can send water underneath cabinets, flooring, and nearby walls.
  • Water Heater Leaks – A damaged tank or connection can create extensive water damage before the supply is shut off.
  • Bathroom Overflows – Toilets, sinks, and tubs can affect floors, baseboards, drywall, and rooms below.
  • Roof & Attic Leaks – Water entering from above can affect insulation, ceilings, drywall, and wall cavities.
  • Crawlspace & Lower-Level Moisture – Plumbing, drainage, and groundwater problems can create persistent moisture beneath a property.
  • Sump & Drainage Failures – Water can accumulate when pumps or drainage systems do not move it away properly.
  • HVAC Drain Problems – Condensate leaks may cause moisture around mechanical equipment, ceilings, or walls.
  • Rain & Storm Intrusion – Damaged exterior components can allow rainwater to enter the building.
  • Sewage & Drain Backups – Contaminated wastewater requires more than basic extraction and drying.

When a pipe or plumbing line is responsible for the loss, our broken and burst pipe water damage service covers extraction, drying, monitoring, and repairs. If water is actively spreading, call for 24/7 emergency water removal.

What Happens During Water Damage Restoration?

1. Determine What Is Wet

We inspect the loss, identify the source, evaluate affected rooms, and check building materials for visible and concealed moisture.

2. Extract the Water

Standing water is removed using professional pumps and extraction equipment selected for the size and conditions of the loss.

3. Control Moisture & Humidity

Air movers and dehumidifiers are placed to begin drying wet flooring, walls, subfloors, framing, and other materials.

4. Verify Drying Progress

Moisture readings help us evaluate drying conditions and identify areas that may require additional time or specialty drying methods.

5. Clean the Affected Area

Surfaces are cleaned, and sanitizing or odor treatments are performed when needed based on the source and category of the water loss.

6. Repair What Was Damaged

After moisture levels are brought under control, damaged drywall, flooring, insulation, trim, and other materials can be repaired or replaced.

Water Damage in Homes, Rentals & Businesses

The same amount of water can create very different problems depending on where the loss occurs. A kitchen leak may spread beneath cabinets and finished flooring, an upstairs bathroom overflow can affect the ceiling below, and a commercial plumbing failure can disrupt occupied work or customer areas.

Phillips Restoration Services works with homeowners, landlords, property managers, and businesses throughout Smyrna. We can address water damage in houses, rental properties, offices, retail spaces, and other commercial buildings, with the restoration plan based on the source of the loss and the materials affected.

For larger business losses, visit our commercial water damage restoration page for information about extraction, drying, moisture monitoring, cleanup, documentation, and repairs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. Phillips Restoration Services answers emergency water damage calls 24/7 for Smyrna homes and businesses. Calling promptly gives the restoration team an opportunity to inspect the loss and begin water removal and drying before moisture continues spreading through the property.

If it is safe to do so, stop the source of the water and avoid standing beneath a sagging or heavily saturated ceiling. Keep away from affected electrical fixtures and contact a restoration professional so the source, ceiling materials, insulation, walls, and surrounding areas can be inspected for moisture.

It depends on the flooring material, amount of water, length of exposure, and condition of the subfloor. Professional extraction, dehumidification, moisture monitoring, and specialty drying methods may be used when the affected materials can be appropriately dried and saved.

If water is actively damaging the property, delaying reasonable steps to stop the source and limit additional damage may allow the loss to become worse. Contact your insurance carrier as soon as possible, and Phillips Restoration Services can document the affected areas, moisture conditions, and restoration work for the claims process.

Yes. Phillips Restoration Services provides sewage damage cleanup. These losses may require contaminated water extraction, removal of unsalvageable porous materials, cleaning, disinfection, drying, filtration, and odor treatment.

Drying time varies according to the amount of water, how long materials were wet, the types of materials affected, and how far moisture traveled. Moisture readings are used during the project to track drying rather than relying only on how surfaces look or feel.
